Accordingly, the Summit County Board of County Commissioners sets the short-term rental rules that govern the Buffalo Ridge & Buffalo Village subdivision as well as all other neighborhoods located in Wildernest. As far as the Buffalo Ridge & Buffalo Village subdivision is concerned, Summit County defines a "short-term rental" as any residential dwelling unit or room therein that is rented for periods of less than 30 consecutive days. And, long-term rentals in Buffalo Ridge & Buffalo Village are encouraged by Summit County government, because they help provide housing to local employees. Summit County is not currently contemplating new restrictions for Buffalo Ridge & Buffalo Village long-term rentals. Accordingly, when owners in Buffalo Ridge & Buffalo Village seek to long-term rent their properties (or any part thereof) for more than thirty consecutive days, they need not be concerned with new STR rules or obtaining a STR license.
