As far as the Preserve at Wildernest subdivision is concerned, Summit County defines a "short-term rental" as any residential dwelling unit or room therein that is rented for periods of less than 30 consecutive days. Preserve at Wildernest rentals, which are longer than 30 consecutive days in length, are instead considered to be a "long-term rental". And, long-term rentals in Preserve at Wildernest are encouraged by Summit County government, because they help provide housing to local employees. Summit County is not currently contemplating new restrictions for Preserve at Wildernest long-term rentals.
