As far as the Prospector Village subdivision is concerned, Summit County defines a "short-term rental" as any residential dwelling unit or room therein that is rented for periods of less than 30 consecutive days. Prospector Village rentals, which are longer than 30 consecutive days in length, are instead considered to be a "long-term rental". And, long-term rentals in Prospector Village are encouraged by Summit County government, because they help provide housing to local employees. Summit County is not currently contemplating new restrictions for Prospector Village long-term rentals.
