Summit County Real Estate Market Trends for February 2015

Land Title Guarantee Company recently released its monthly Summit County Real Estate Market Trends for February 2015. On a seasonal basis, February is one of the slower months for local real estate activity, since it’s in the midst of the winter ski season. The Summit County real estate market has its highest level of activity during the summer and early fall.

As part of its analysis, LTGC provided the monthly percentage change in total dollar volume & total number of real estate transactions across Summit County. Comparing February 2015 to the month of February in recent years, the totals were as follows:

  • February 2010 – $36,036,515 generated from 66 transactions
  • February 2011 – $38,351,800 generated from 89 transactions
  • February 2012 – $43,118,700 generated from 79 transactions
  • February 2013 – $40,697,000 generated from 92 transactions
  • February 2014 – $40,404,200 generated from 83 transactions
  • February 2015 – $50,326,500 generated from 106 transactions

Looking at these statistics, the local real estate market in February 2015 increased substantially in comparison to February 2014. The total dollar volume of sales in February 2015 surged ahead 25% from February 2014. The number of real estate transactions in Summit County in February 2015 trended upward even more significantly – up 28% from February 2014. As a result, the Summit County real estate market is off to a terrific start in 2015.

To recap Summit County real estate market trends in the last five months of 2014 and the first month in 2015:

  • In January 2015, the number of real estate transactions in Summit County increased 25% from January 2014, and the total dollar volume of sales in January 2015 increased 28% from January 2014.
  • In December 2014, the number of real estate transactions in Summit County increased a whopping 32% from December 2013, and the total dollar volume of sales in December 2014 markedly trended upward about 14% from December 2013.
  • In November 2014, the number of real estate transactions in Summit County increased 19% from November 2013, and the total dollar volume of sales in November 2014 increased 16% from November 2013.
  • In October 2014, the number of real estate transactions in Summit County increased 5% from October 2013, and the total dollar volume of sales in October 2014 increased 6% from October 2013.
  • In September 2014, the number of real estate transactions in Summit County increased 11% from September 2013, and the total dollar volume of sales in September 2014 increased 19% from September 2013.
  • In August 2014, the number of real estate transactions in Summit County increased 26% from August 2013, and the total dollar volume of sales in August 2014 increased 32% from August 2013.
