Summit County Real Estate Market Trends for May 2015

Land Title Guarantee Company recently released its monthly Summit County Real Estate Market Trends for May 2015. On a seasonal basis, May is on the cusp of the start of the busy season for real estate buyers and sellers. The Summit County real estate market has its highest level of activity during the summer and early fall.

As part of its analysis, LTGC provided the monthly percentage change in total dollar volume & total number of real estate transactions across Summit County. Comparing May 2015 to the month of May in recent years, the totals were as follows:

  • May 2010 – $63,039,000 generated from 94 transactions
  • May 2011 – $56,177,600 generated from 107 transactions
  • May 2012 – $68,527,900 generated from 134 transactions
  • May 2013 – $81,043,900 generated from 158 transactions
  • May 2014 – $91,569,106 generated from 174 transactions
  • May 2015 – $116,330,500 generated from 205 transactions

Looking at these statistics, the local real estate market in May 2015 trended significantly upward in comparison to May 2014. The total dollar volume of sales in May 2015 increased a massive 27% from May 2014. The number of real estate transactions in Summit County in May 2015 experienced an upturn as well – up 18% from May 2014. As a result, the Summit County real estate market continued to build on the great start it had in 2015.

To recap Summit County real estate market trends in the last two months of 2014 and the first four months in 2015:

  • In April 2015, the number of real estate transactions in Summit County increased 31% from April 2014, and the total dollar volume of sales in April 2015 increased 55% from April 2014.
  • In March 2015, the number of real estate transactions in Summit County increased 25% from March 2014, and the total dollar volume of sales in March 2015 increased 37% from February 2014.
  • In February 2015, the number of real estate transactions in Summit County increased 28% from February 2014, and the total dollar volume of sales in February 2015 increased 25% from February 2014.
  • In January 2015, the number of real estate transactions in Summit County increased 25% from January 2014, and the total dollar volume of sales in January 2015 increased 28% from January 2014.
  • In December 2014, the number of real estate transactions in Summit County increased a whopping 32% from December 2013, and the total dollar volume of sales in December 2014 markedly trended upward about 14% from December 2013.
  • In November 2014, the number of real estate transactions in Summit County increased 19% from November 2013, and the total dollar volume of sales in November 2014 increased 16% from November 2013.
